Atmospheric Halos in Stamps

Since I have collected stamps for a long time I already some times ago (1998) searched for stamps which shows halos or halo-like illustrations. However, I have not collect those stamps until recently. So I decided to list all stamps I know of about halos. Halos are quite rare in stamps. Rainbow is much more common feature. So this list is quite short. If you know more of these, please let me know.

I have divide these into two categories. Catergory A is stamps which has clear halo and category B is stamps which has some kind of halo-like feature.

I am sorry that I do not have prober identification information from all of these stamps. 

Category A - Stamps with clear halo

Subject: Parahelion

Subject: Faraday station

Nice halo stamp with photograph like illustration with a nice 22° halo.

Subject: Discovery 1925-27

Issued: 1 Feb 1954

Discovery sailing ship with a classic Antarctic halo display illustration as a background. Halos in the stamps are 22° halo, 22° upper arc, 46° halo and parhelic circle.

Subject: Discovery 1925-27 and Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1955-1958

Postage: 6 pence

Same stamps as previous but this is overprinted with text "Trans-Antarctic Expedition 1955-1958".

Issued: 2 Jan 1995

A stamp with arcs which can be interpret as parhelia.

Subject: Soviet aviation

Postage: 3 ruples

An diving airplane as a silhuet agains the sun. Around the sun 22° halo with sun pillar. A strange looking brightening on top and on bottom of  the 22° halo.

Subject: Vostok station

Postage: 16 kop.

Vostok Antarctic station with a (lunar?) 22° halo on the sky.

Category B - Stamps with halo-like features

Subject: Crus del sur and Santa Fe bridge

Postage: 2000 pesos

Issued: 16 Oct 1982

Behind the bridge there is some kind of symbol which looks like a 22° halo with a sun pillar which looks more like a cristh like figure. Probably nothing to do with halos.

Subject: 100th anniversary of revolution of Pernambuco
Postage: 100 reis

Issued: 6 March 1917

A stamp where is a the sun in the middle and a rainbow or 22° halo like arc around it. Probably nothing to do with halos.

Postage: 40 cts - airmail stamp

Airplane above landscape where is two circles around setting or rising sun. Some kind of 22° and 46° halo like situation, but not sure if artist have had halos in mind when drew this stamp.

Subject: Irrigation system of La Achirana (or Ica river)

Postage: 30 cts - airmail

Issued: 1 July 1938

Landscape which has sun on the background. Two circles can be seen around the sun. A typical 22° and 46° halo like situation which has probably nothing to do with halos.

Subject: German occupation first anniversary

Postage: 12 + 38 groszy
issued: 1940

In the background there is a sun with a nazi symbol in middle and which has a 22° halo like circle around it. Probably nothing to do with halos.

Postage: 20 gr
